Steven A. Cohen, Ph.D.

Elevance Renewable Sciences

Dr. Cohen is currently Director, Catalyst and Chemicals Technology for Elevance Renewable Sciences where he is responsible for long-range research, catalyst technologies, and analytical chemistry.   He joined Elevance in 2008 as Catalyst Research Advisor after twenty-six years in various research positions in the polyolefin, linear alpha olefin, and ammoxidation businesses operated by Amoco/BP/INEOS and in the Corporate Research Science Labs of Exxon.  He is an inventor on eighteen issued patents, primarily in the areas of catalysis and process chemistry, and has co-authored eleven journal articles.   Dr. Cohen earned BA and MS degrees in Chemistry at Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology.  He has been a member of Calera’s Catalyst Advisory Board since 2012.
